(Subject to Mayor's Veto). ..Body RECOMMENDATION It is recommended Council approve the Tenth Amendment to the Salary Resolution No. 2021-176 to amend the salary range for the Services Aide position found in "Exhibit 8, Unit 8, Non-Represented effective January 1, 2022." EXECUTIVE SUMMARY For business reasons, it is necessary to amend the salary range for the Services Aide position found in "Exhibit 8, Unit 8, Non-Represented effective January 1, 2022" from $15.00 - $17.00 per hour to $15.00 - $19.00 per hour to address the California minimum wage rate increase by operation of the law. To implement these actions, it is necessary to approve the Tenth Amendment to FY 2022 Salary Resolution No. 2021-176. BACKGROUND For business reasons, it is necessary that the salary range for the Services Aide position is amended. It is recommended that the salary range for the Services Aide position found in "Exhibit 8, Unit 8, Non-Represented effective January 1, 2022". The California minimum wage rate will increase beginning January 1, 2022. The salary range for the Services Aide position is recommended to be adjusted from $15.00 - $17.00 per hour to $15.00 - $19.00 per hour to address the minimum wage rate increase. The City Attorney's Office has approved the Tenth Amendment to Salary Resolution No. 2021-176 as to form. ENVIRONMENTAL FINDINGS By the definition provided in the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines Section 15378 this item does not qualify as a "project" and is therefore exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act requirements. LOCAL PREFERENCE Local preference is not implicated because this item does not involve public contracting or bidding with the City of Fresno. FISCAL IMPACT Amending the salary range of the Services Aide position found in "Exhibit 8, Unit 8, Non-Represented effective January 1, 2022" will result in increased salary and benefit expenses in Fiscal Year 2022.
