REPORT TO THE CITY OF FRESNO YOUTH COMMISSION June 14, 2019 FROM: Jose Espinoza, Program Coordinator Youth Leadership Institute (YLI) BY: Marco Martinez, Senior Deputy City Clerk City Clerk's Office SUBJECT ..Title Discussion and actions pertaining to Youth Commission retreat planning ..Body RECOMMENDATION N/A EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The purpose of the Youth Commission retreat is to provide trainings in regards to meeting with elected officials, conducting research, analyzing data, and creating an action plan. Topics regarding any items currently under discussion by the Youth Commission will not be discussed. BACKGROUND At the June 7, 2019 meeting the Youth Commission discussed and agreed by concensus to hold the training retreat in the Bay Area during June 22, 2019 through June 23, 2019. It was agreed that Program Coordinator Espinoza would research and provide the Commission with an update in regards to the technical aspects of the retreat planning at the next meeting. ENVIRONMENTAL FINDINGS By the definition provided in the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines Section 15378 this item does not qualify as a "project" and is therefore exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act requirements. LOCAL PREFERENCE N/A FISCAL IMPACT Appropriations for this project will be made from the Youth Commission's annual budget.
