Approve Amendment to City Attorney's Employment Agreement - Council Offices

RECOMMENDATION
The Council President, on behalf of the Council, recommends the City Council:
1. Approve the amendment to the City Attorney's Employment Agreement; and
2. Authorize and direct the Council President to sign the Amendment to the Agreement.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City and City Attorney entered into an Employment agreement ("Agreement") on March 20, 2013. Council desires to modify the Agreement to reflect the City Attorney's positive performance evaluation, including the office achieving substantial cost savings to the City in the past year.
BACKGROUND
This modifies the Agreement to provide the City Attorney an annual base salary of $189,000 per year. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement are unchanged. The change would become effective July 1, 2014.

LOCAL PREFERENCE: N/A
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost for the City Attorney's base salary will be paid from the City Attorney's Office existing budget, which is largely general fund.
