SUBJECT: FY21 Budget Amendment to Transfer Funds from CAO Budget

RECOMMENDATION
Approve a Resolution amending the City Attorney's Office budget by transferring $1 million, with $50,000 to be added to each Council District discretionary budget and $650,000 to a fund for COVID expenses, to be spent as directed by Council.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The City Attorney's Office is projected to have at least $1 million available from the FY21 Budget that would go unspent during the fiscal year. These funds may be reallocated based upon needs as directed by Council policy. The Resolution requires 5 affirmative votes, and is subject to veto.
BACKGROUND
The proposed Resolution amends the FY21 Budget, as follows:
1. The CAO Budget will be reduced by $1 million.
2. $50,000 will be added to each Council District discretionary budget, for a total of $350,000.
3 $650,000 will be added to a fund for COVID related expenses, to be spent as directed by Council.
FISCAL IMPACT
No net fiscal impact, is this is only an internal reallocation of budgeted funds.
