REPORT TO THE CITY OF FRESNO YOUTH COMMISSION June 7, 2019 FROM: Jose Espinoza, Program Coordinator Fresno Youth Commission BY: Marco Martinez, Senior Deputy City Clerk City Clerk's Office SUBJECT ..Title Discussion and actions pertaining to offering Fresno Youth Commission support to the Youth Jobs Task Force ..Body RECOMMENDATION That the Fresno Youth Commission provide support to the Youth Jobs Task Force. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Assign roles and responsibilities in relation to assisting the Youth Jobs Task Force with tasks needed to complete the task force's goals, including, but not limited to survey and data collection. BACKGROUND In 2017 and 2018, the Fresno Youth Commission worked on a resolution to propose the creation of a Youth Jobs Task Force to the Fresno City Council. The purpose of the task force would be to study and provide recommendations to City Council in relation to providing employment opportunities to youth in the City of Fresno. On January 30, 2018, the Fresno Youth Commission approved a Youth Jobs Task Force resolution to present to City Council. On March 1, 2018, the Fresno City Council approved the Commission's recommendations and officially established the Youth Jobs Task Force.
