REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL July 24, 2014 FROM: YVONNE SPENCE, City Clerk Office of the City Clerk BY: TODD STERMER, Assistant City Clerk Office of the City Clerk SUBJECT ..Title RESOLUTION - Declaration of results from June 3, 2014, Consolidated Direct Primary Election ..Body RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the Council adopt the attached Resolution declaring the results of the June 3, 2014 Primary Election. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY On July 15, 2014, the City Clerk's Office received from the County Clerk a certified abstract of the canvass of the results of the Primary Election held on June 3, 2014. Under the Elections Code, the Council must now declare the results of the election. An appropriate resolution has been prepared and is being presented for adoption. BACKGROUND The results of the Primary Election held on June 3, 2014, illustrate that, Oliver Baines, District 3, Sal Quintero, District 5, and Clint Olivier, District 7, received over 50 percent of the votes cast within the City of Fresno. Oliver Baines, Sal Quintero and Clint Olivier will continue serving their term as City Council Member of the City of Fresno upon administration of the oaths of office currently scheduled for January 2015. FISCAL IMPACT Funding will come from the General Fund. Attachment: Resolution
