ARIAS, Council President ESMERALDA SORIA, Councilmember City Council BY: TERRY COX, Chief of Staff City Council District 1 SUBJECT ..Title WORKSHOP - Regarding Tower District Beautification Plan ..Body BACKGROUND The Historic Tower District is well known as a dining, arts and entertainment district. The Tower District is also home to many community events/gatherings drawing crowds from throughout Fresno. The historic boundaries of this area are within Council Districts 1 and 3. As councilmembers for the area, Council President Arias and Councilmember Soria are presenting this workshop to outline for the public and community a three phased Tower District Beautification Plan. Phase I - Clean Up Program Phase II - Beautification Phase III - Streetscape Improvements FISCAL IMPACT This Beautification Plan will not impact the General Fund. Phase I and II funds will be utilized from existing Council District I and 3 budgets. Phase III is funded through a Federal Grants and budgeted capital project funding.
