REPORT TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION May 17, 2022 FROM: TODD STERMER, City Clerk Office of the City Clerk BY: AMANDA MARTIN, Deputy City Clerk Office of the City Clerk SUBJECT ..Title West Area Neighborhoods Specific Plan ..Body EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The City of Fresno Long-Range Planning Division has filed three Plan Amendments and one Rezone application related to the West Area Neighborhoods Specific Plan. The Plan Area contains 7,077 acres (approximately 11 square miles) and is generally located west of Highway 99, north of Clinton Avenue, and east of Garfield Avenue. The Specific Plan contains goals, policies, and land use designations intended to direct the future growth of the Plan Area. Plan Amendment Application No. P22-01351 will repeal the West Area Community Plan and the portion of the Highway City Neighborhood Specific Plan that overlaps the Plan Boundary. Plan Amendment Application No. P22-01352 will adopt the West Area Neighborhoods Specific Plan and Planned Land Use Map. Plan Amendment Application No. P22-01353 will update the General Plan Planned Land Use Map (Figure LU-1) and Dual Designation Map (Figure LU-2) to be consistent with the Specific Plan. Rezone Application No. P22-01353 will rezone parcels to be consistent with Specific Plan Planned Land Use Map.
