Accessibility statement

The City of Fresno is committed to ensuring this portal is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

Conformance standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard adopted under the ADA Title II web rule.

Documents

Agenda content is provided as accessible HTML in addition to the source PDF. Each attachment also offers an "Accessible HTML" option that opens a WCAG 2.1 AA HTML version of the document (generated on request for older files). If you need a remediated document, a different format, or encounter a file you cannot access, contact the City Clerk and we will provide an accessible version.

Live meeting access & captioning

City Council meetings are livestreamed with real-time captions in English and Spanish available during the meeting through Wordly (select your language). American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation is provided live on the Zoom feed. Spoken-language interpretation in the other applicable languages under California SB 707 is available on request. To request CART captioning, an interpreter in another language, an assistive listening device, or another disability accommodation, contact the City Clerk at least three business days in advance.

Service disruptions during meetings (SB 707)

The City makes a good-faith effort to keep the live broadcast and two-way remote participation working for every meeting. As required by California SB 707, if a disruption within the City’s control prevents members of the public from participating remotely — for example, the livestream, the Zoom webinar, or the call-in line stops working — the legislative body will take no further action on agenda items until public access is restored. The body will recess for at least one hour, or until remote access is restored if that is sooner, while City staff work in good faith to fix the problem. Any action validly taken before the disruption is not affected. A disruption limited to an individual member of the public’s own internet or phone service does not require the meeting to stop.
