REPORT TO THE CITY COUNCIL FROM: HENRY THOMPSON, Director of Aviation Airports Department BY: MELISSA GARZA-PERRY, Airports Properties Manager Airports Department SUBJECT ..Title WORKSHOP - Airport Concessions RFP Update - Fresno Yosemite International Airport ..Body EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Workshop updating City Council and City Manager on the upcoming airport concessions request for proposals (RFP) process. BACKGROUND Fresno Yosemite International Airport's current concessions agreements' term end on January 1, 2023. Airports will be releasing an RFP in the second quarter of 2022 for a new concessions program that includes current spaces, and new spaces coming online with the terminal expansion. This is the first redevelopment of airport concessions in more than 20 years, and supports Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines to competitively bid these opportunities as the current concession agreements terminate, and before any new agreements are executed. As part of this process, staff will focus on developing a program that encourages local participation for these opportunities.
