(Requires 5 Affirmative Votes) (Subject to Mayor's Veto) ..Body RECOMMENDATION It is recommended Council approve the adoption of the 7th Amendment to the Position Authorization Resolution (PAR) No. 2021-179, adding one full-time position of Council Assistant in the Council City Support Division. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY It is recommended Council approve the adoption of the 7th Amendment to the PAR to add one full-time position of Council Assistant in the Council City Support Division to cover the increase in workload resulting from Council district projects. BACKGROUND With all the current Council district offices' projects in progress throughout the City of Fresno, there has been an increase in workload for the Council City Support Division. There is an immediate need for one full-time position of Council Assistant to handle the increased workload generated from these various Council district projects. ENVIRONMENTAL FINDINGS By the definition provided in the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines Section 15378, this item does not qualify as a "project" and is therefore exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act requirements. LOCAL PREFERENCE Local preference is not implicated because this item does not involve public contracting or bidding with the City of Fresno. FISCAL IMPACT The addition of one full-time position of Council Assistant will require appropriation of $20,000 funding for two months' salary and benefits for the balance of Fiscal Year 2022, from the City Attorney's Office Budget, Council Projects, to the Council City Support Division's budget.
