SORIA, Councilmember for District 1 City Council Offices SUBJECT ..Title BILL - (For Introduction) - Amending Fresno Municipal Code (FMC) Section 2-603 relating to posting legal notices ..Body RECOMMENDATION It is recommended the Council introduce an amendment to Fresno Municipal Code Section 2-603, requiring legal notices to be translated into both Spanish and Hmong, and published in the Spanish and Hmong newspapers with the highest circulation in the City. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Ensuring the public has access to legal notices posted by the City is of utmost importance. The attached ordinance will increase the access for non-English speaking members of the community.
