BACKGROUND At the September 6, 2019 Fresno Youth Commission meeting, Program Coordinator Espinoza encouraged the commissioners to participate in community service opportunities as a commission in order to create broader community partnerships, market the Youth Commission, and do good-will. The commissioners discussed and agreed to participate in community service as a commission. At the September 27, 2019 Fresno Youth Commission meeting, the commissioners decided to research various local non-profit organizations and causes in order to narrow down the community service opportunity that they would engage in as a commission. ENVIRONMENTAL FINDINGS By the definition provided in the California Environmental Quality Act Guidelines Section 15378 this item does not qualify as a "project" and is therefore exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act requirements. LOCAL PREFERENCE Service opportunities will be carried-out at City of Fresno organizations. FISCAL IMPACT
