- V.NEW MATTERS
- New Matters are items that will be reviewed by the Committee and which may be subject to a vote of the Committee. Applicants and/or their representatives are asked to be in attendance to discuss these projects.
- A.ABC CUP for Type 47 Alcohol License
- Location: 920 East Olive Avenue Applicant: Claudia Moreno of Tipzy's Taco's & Beer Conditional Use Permit Application No. P21-06575 requests authorization to establish a State of California Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) Type 47 (Restaurant – sale of beer, wine, and distilled spirits for consumption on the premises where sold) alcohol license for purposes of operating a combination Restaurant with Alcohol and Bar in an existing ±1,800 square-foot tenant space. In addition, an ±80 square-foot outdoor patio space will be located at the main entrance. The proposed hours of operation are Wednesday - Sunday: 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 a.m. with the service of alcohol proposed to stop at 2:00 a.m. Furthermore, the establishment proposes two modes pf operation: 1.) A restaurant with alcohol between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.; and 2.) A Bar (limited to person 21 years of age and older) from 9:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The subject property is located in the CMS (Commercial – Main Street) zone district. Note: The subject application was previously reviewed and considered by the Tower District Design Review Committee on February 8, 2022. The Committee recommended approval of the application by a vote of 5-0 (2 members absent) with the recommendation that the applicant provide a pony wall at the proposed patio area and return to the committee for proposed signage. Note: The subject application is returning to the committee at the request of the Planning and Development Director for purposes of considering additional information received from responsible departments and/or agencies.
- B.Sign Review for Tipzy's Tacos & Beer
- Location: 920 East Olive Avenue Applicant: Claudia Moreno of Tipzy's Taco's & Beer Sign Review Application No. P22-01906 requests to install a new sign at the location noted above. The applicant proposes a 37.5 square-foot halo lit, LED illuminated individual channel letter sign.
- C.Reroof Remodel
- Location: 619 E Hedges Avenue Applicant: Ruby Cisneros Item is being brought before the Committee in response to a code enforcement violation received for "no permit displayed for reroof." The existing roof was replaced w/o permits. In addition, the existing roof was modified and existing architectural elements were removed. Applicant is requesting the Committee to consider and approve the changes as is.

- Committee Consultation Items and unscheduled matters are items that the general public can address to the Committee in order to request input on a proposed project with no formal recommendations, or to provide general information about projects and events in the Tower District. However, the Committee cannot take formal action on these items. (Unscheduled Items shall each be limited to five minutes.)
