Agenda 23

- The Board convened into Executive Session at 1:40pm.
- Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi, and Director of Personnel Services, Jeffrey Cardell, were present. The Applicant was also present.
- There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned at 2:12pm.
- At 2:10pm, the Board reconvened into Open Session and the decisions of the Board were announced in accordance with the Brown Act.
- Director of Personnel Services, Jeffrey Cardell, provided an update to the Board regarding filling the current (2) Board Member vacancies. Mr. Cardell reported that the Mayor's office is scheduled to appoint (2) new Civil Service Board Members on December 5, 2019 at the Fresno City Council meeting.
- Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi, and Director of Personnel Services, Jeffrey Cardell, were present. The Applicant was not present.
- Attorney at Law, Joseph Rubin, and Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi, were present on behalf of the Appointing Authority. Labor Representative, Tony Silva, and the Appellant were also present. The Hearing on Appeal was scheduled for March 23, 2020 at 9:00am.

Meeting disruption policy

Meetings are conducted so everyone — in the room and watching or calling in remotely — can take part. A person who disrupts a meeting in person may be removed after a warning. Under California SB 707, if a service disruption within the City’s control cuts off the public’s ability to participate remotely, the body takes no further action on agenda items and recesses for at least one hour while staff make a good-faith effort to restore access; the meeting resumes only once remote access is back.
