- Board Counsel, Dan McCloskey, was present and represented the Board. Also present were Acting Secretary Designee, Karnell Grijalva, Deputy City Attorney III, Jennifer DeRuosi, and Assistant Director of Personnel Services, Marissa Gonzales.
- Meeting & participation information
  Deputy City Attorney III, Stephanie Snyder, and Director of Transportation, Gregory Barfield, were present on behalf of the Appointing Authority. The Appellant and Attorney at Law, Jacob Weisberg, were also present. Witnesses were sequestered and the reading of the Order was waived by the parties. Exhibits of evidence were presented during testimony and they were filed and moved into the record. At 4:02pm, all parties agreed to continue the Hearing on Appeal for an additonal day. The Hearing on Appeal was continued to May 15, 2019 at 10:00am.

Meeting disruption policy

Meetings are conducted so everyone — in the room and watching or calling in remotely — can take part. A person who disrupts a meeting in person may be removed after a warning. Under California SB 707, if a service disruption within the City’s control cuts off the public’s ability to participate remotely, the body takes no further action on agenda items and recesses for at least one hour while staff make a good-faith effort to restore access; the meeting resumes only once remote access is back.
